Choosing your courses

To help you choose your courses we have divided them into different levels. Look at the introduction to each level to check which the right one for you is.

ENTRY LEVEL

To do these courses you don't need any formal qualifications and they are targeted at students with severe or moderate learning difficulties. Click on the link for information about these courses.[MORE]

LEVEL 1

To do these courses you don't need any formal qualifications. They are designed to prepare you for Level 2 courses or employment/ training. Click on the link for information about these courses. [MORE]

LEVEL 2

To do these courses you need to have achieved at least five GCSEs at grade E (preferably with two Ds). They are designed to prepare you for Level 3 study or employment / training. Click on the link for information about these courses.[MORE]

LEVEL 3

To do these courses you need to have achieved at least five GCSEs at grade A*-C. Entrance to our Sixth Form Academy will require you to achieve five GCSEs at grade A*-B. Level 3 courses will prepare you for university entry or employment / training. Click on the link for information about these courses. [MORE]

You can also find more details about specific courses on the individual course information leaflets which are available from college Reception. Alternatively you will be able to pick them up at our open evenings. These leaflets will give you more idea about the specific requirements and expectations of a course.

 
We also recommend that you come to our Open Evenings in the autumn term  to find out more from students and staff about the courses you are interested in. A further Open Evening takes place on Wednesday February 10, 2010.
 
If you are over 19 you can join any full-time course at St Vincent and there are part-time options too. Details of fees and fee remission categories are available on application to the college.

Some courses contain little or no coursework, while others are assessed entirely by coursework. When you are considering which courses you wish to take you should bear this in mind.
