Workplace experience and evidence of your performance as a senior practitioner is a key component of your development and you will be expected to be working in an early years environment for at least 12 hours a week whilst you are on the course.

 

A wide range of specialists have been involved in the design and development of the course including practitioners in the field. This ensures the programme is up-to-date and, above all, relevant to your day-to-day work. The programme has been closely linked to the Department of Education’s Statement of Requirement for the Early Years Sector Endorsed Foundation degree – the national benchmark and standard to those working in the sector.

 

Over the three years of the course you will consider your practice and develop your knowledge in:

 

·        child development and learning

·        planning and organising the curriculum

·        working with others

 

There will also be opportunities to improve personal skills related to your work-based setting and academic requirements.

 

Professional development units run throughout the three years of the degree, giving you the opportunity to link your study and work. These are delivered through an online environment so it is helpful for you to have access to a computer and the internet when starting the course.

Currently the course fees are £800 per year (subject to change), however you may be eligible for fee remission subject to your status.
