BROWSER SETTINGS

Find out how to change basic appearance settings in some common browsers below.

INTERNET EXPLORER

Change colour and font settings in IE

  • From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options
  • Select the Accessibility… button (bottom right)
  • By checking the desired checkboxes, you can force the browser to ignore the colours, font styles and font sizes
  • After forcing browser to ignore font sizes you can change font sizes in IE
  • From the View menu, choose the Text size option

Disable images in IE

  • From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options
  • Select the Advanced tab (top right)
  • Scroll down to the Multimedia section
  • Untick the checkbox labelled Show pictures

OPERA

Change font sizes in Opera

  • Click the Page Easy setup, then click on Go to browser settings
  • Under “Advanced”, scroll to Appearance
  • Change Page zoom or Font size

Change font style in Opera

  • Click the Page Easy setup, then click on Go to browser settings
  • Under “Advanced”, scroll to Appearance
  • click on Customise fonts and make changes you want

Disable images in Opera

  • Click the Page Easy setup, then click on Go to browser settings
  • Under “Advanced”, scroll to Privacy and security
  • Click on Site Settings
  • Then click on Show all to hide images

SAFARI

Change font sizes in Safari

  • From page menu icon (Safari), choose Zoom
  • Click on Zoom Text Only then go to page menu icon (Safari), choose ZooZoom In (Ctrl++)

Change font style in Safari

  • Go to page menu icon (Safari), select Preferences, choose Appearance or Advanced
  • Choose the fonts for all web pages you visit

GOOGLE CHROME

Change font size in Chrome

  • Click the Customize / Control Google Chrome button > Settings.
  • Under “Appearance,” make the changes to Font Size

Change font style in Chrome

  • Click the Customize / Control Google Chrome button > Settings.
  • Under “Appearance,” click on Customise fonts
  • Make the changes you want

Disable images in Chrome

  • Click the Customize / Control Google Chrome button > Settings.
  • Scroll down and click on “Show Advanced settings”.
  • In the Privacy section, click on Content settings.
  • In the Image section, select “Do not show images”.
