What is the course about (aims)

Have you always wanted to experiment with a variety of different mediums? Would you enjoy being able to layer various materials together to create a highly individual artwork? If so, you would enjoy this class as there are no rules and no right or wrong.

During this course you can experiment by working over the top of a photograph, making decisions about how to alter and enhance the image. Or you may decide to create a mixed media piece using a found image or your imagination.

The course is suitable for beginners. No prior knowledge is necessary.

Do I need specific equipment or clothes?

We will provide some basic materials such as scissors, glue, tissue paper, magazines, paint and pens.

Will there be additional costs?

During your first lesson, depending on how you decide to develop your artwork, you will be advised of any extra collage materials that you may choose to bring in. This could all be recycled materials if you don’t wish to incur any extra costs.

How will my progress be recorded?

Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. This is a flexible working document agreed between the learner and the tutor. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
