Topics covered may include:

  • Biological/psychological/sociological explanations of crime
  • Criminal Justice System (CJS)
  • Consideration of criminality with reference to gender, ethnicity, class, age
  • Issues including media, drugs, homicide and anti-social behaviour

The course will also include a foundation in academic study skills appropriate to this level, which will provide valuable preparation for further study, including the Access to HE Diploma course.

How will my progress be recorded?

Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. This is a flexible working document agreed between the learner and the tutor. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
