Martial Arts Display 2017
In December 2017 our Level 3 Year 1 Public Services students took part in our annual Martial Arts Display as part of Unit 4: Discipline in the Uniformed Services. Each year our Level 3 students train alongside their unit tutor, Adam Woodford, who is highly qualified in Shotokan Karate.
From September to December, these students learn a range of self-defence activities and combat choreography, including armed combat. This year’s Display Team performed in front of 200 guests which included Gomer Junior School, Meoncross School, Brune Park School, our School of Personalised Learning and our VIPs, which comprised of college staff and the Display Team’s families.
The Display Team did exceptionally well with the level of complexity, the displays production and presentation and their overall effort. Each student showed a great amount of commitment and discipline to the training and display, with some outstanding performances. On behalf of the Uniformed Public Services Department we are very proud of this year’s Display Team.
