Crochet for Beginners
Who is this course for?
This course is for those who are completely new to crochet or have a little previous experience.
What will I achieve?
During the course you will learn basic crochet stitches, such as double and treble crochet. You will also learn how to:
hold the hook and yarn correctly
crochet back and forth and also in the round
read basic patterns and charts
change yarn colour
make a Granny Square
make textured stitches, such as bobbles, popcorns and puffs.
join squares together to make larger projects
increase and decrease to create chevron and wave patterns
make shell and lace stitches
How will my progress be recorded?
Your tutor will work with you to complete a Learner Progress Form, this form will record your progress throughout the duration of the course.
