A series of group workshops that are designed to help you develop as a drummer. If you are a total beginner or you have been drumming for years; we will shape a program to suite your needs. We look at all forms of drumming from different genres, styles and techniques. The course is run by Chris Harris a musician with over 10 years experience playing and teaching. What is the course about (aims)
Learning the basics of drumming; timing, tempo, dynamics, rhythm, texture, timbre and style. We will explore your own personal music tastes and learn the different drumbeats and techniques of your chosen genre and artists.

I need specific equipment?
All equipment will be provided by the college. However if you wish to buy your own drumsticks for practice at home, they can range from £5-£10.
Wear whatever clothing you feel comfortable in, remember drumming can be quite sweaty – avoid heavy boots.

How will my progress be recorded?
Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of a Learner Progress Sheet. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
Will there be homework?
This will be optional and will consist of; listening to music, watching videos and practicing rhythmic exercises (no drum kit necessary).
