What is the course about (Aims)
Learn the basic skills needed to:
• Make Shortcrust, Sweet, Rough Puff and Choux Pastry.
• Use equipment correctly and safely.
• Demonstrate basic food hygiene.
• Evaluate methods used.
Are there specific requirements for joining?
This course is suited to those with or without experience.
Will there be additional costs?
A list of ingredients will be supplied prior to the start of the first lesson. The tutor will discuss on a weekly basis ingredients for the next lesson.
Do I need specific equipment or clothes?
Students will require the following:
• An apron.
• Notepad and pen/pencil.
Course Outline (Outcomes)
By the end of the course, students should have learnt the basic skills needed to create and produce a wonderful product.
How will I learn?
Learning will be tutor led with demonstrations and practice activities. There will be a mixture of both individual and class discussion.
Will there be homework?
To collect items required for the following weeks’ tuition.
How will my progress be recorded?
Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. This is a flexible working document agreed between the learner and the tutor. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
Days/Times: Tuesday or Thursday 7-9pm
Duration: 4 Weeks
Starting: 24th or 26th April 2018
