A Makaton Certificate is provided on completion of the course.
WHAT DOES THIS COURSE COVER?
Makaton is a language programme that encompasses a mixture of signs, symbols, and speech to aid communication from birth. Makaton can support children and adult development in settings, including; Early years provisions, schools, shops, and the wider community. Are you interested in alternative forms of communication? If so, this is the course for you. If you have completed the introduction to Makaton session and want to progress, this could be the perfect way of continuing your learning using other forms of communication. Level 1 is a stepping stone for those who want to begin their Makaton journey. This course will benefit parents, carers, and family members as well as those where Makaton would enhance their workplace practice, providing more detailed knowledge of the Makaton Language Programme.
COURSE TIMINGS
This course will run for 2 weeks, each session is 3 hours.
HOW MUCH DOES THIS COURSE COST?
The Makaton delivery is funded, please enquire for further details on funding eligibility. The participant manual will be an additional charge for the course.
Please note that the manual is a requirement for the course.
PROGRESSION
Upon completion of this course, you may like to progress to Makaton Level 2 course that we offer at St Vincent College.
