Who is this course for?

This course is for those who want to learn to use a sewing machine. This course will introduce you to the basics. Where you will have the opportunity to get to know your own sewing machine or use one of the centres if you don’t have your own.

Your own sewing machine will be PAT tested free of charge on the first week of the course. Please bring your machine along including the peddle.

What will I achieve?

You will learn how to thread the sewing machine and become more familiar with the main parts and functions. You will learn different types of stitches that can be produced including:
straight stitch, vertical, horizontal, curved and parallel lines
zig-zag stitch, satin stitch, buttonholes and sewing on buttons
invisible hem
three step zig-zag
decorative stitches

How will my progress be recorded?

Your tutor will work with you to complete a Learner Progress Form, this form will record your progress throughout the duration of the course.
