This course is aimed and designed for students with little or no understanding of the Spanish language.
What is the course about (aims)
The aim of the course is that you will be able to converse in simple terms and cope with everyday situations such as asking the way, shopping, changing money, ordering snacks and drinks, asking for tourist information and booking into hotels. Basic grammar will be covered as it arises.
Are there specific requirements for joining?
This course is specifically aimed at students with little or no prior knowledge of Spanish.
Will there be additional costs?
No – Students will be advised at the first class of any books/materials which may have to be purchased.
Do I need specific equipment or clothes?
No, only textbook and you may wish to bring a notepad and pen/pencil.
Course outline (outcomes)
Students will be able to converse in simple terms and cope with everyday situations. Basic grammar will be covered as it arises.
How will I learn?
By listening to tapes in class (provided by the teacher), interacting with the teacher and other students to practise the vocabulary and structures learnt in class, by doing reading comprehension activities and writing exercises in class and for homework.
How will my progress be recorded?
Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. This is a flexible working document agreed between the learner and the tutor. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
Will there be homework?
If so how much/how many hours?
Yes, about one hour per week or every two weeks.
