BLOCK WEEK for Level 2 and Level 3 students

March 12 @ 9:30 am - March 16 @ 3:00 pm

Dear Level 2 and Level 3 students,

During the week of 12th – 16th March 2018, the timetable changes to ‘Mock / Block Days’, which means you will study one of your subjects each day: 9.30am – 3.00pm, or undertake a formal mock exam.


Level 2 courses
Level 3 YR1 and YR2 Vocational courses
Level 3 YR1 A levels.

Level 3 YR2 A level course you will undertake formal mock exams between 9:30 and 12:30. Students entitled to extra time will then continue on beyond 12:30.
The mocks are designed to prepare you for your summer exams and will take place in the sports hall or an IT suite, depending upon your exam entitlement / pre-agreed arrangements.
If you are unsure about anything please speak to your subject teachers or progress tutor.

Key Dates

These are the important dates to remember when planning your future at college.

Open Evenings at colleges in the area. St Vincent Early Autumn Open Evening – Tuesday 10th October (5.30pm – 8.30pm)


St Vincent Late Autumn Open Evening – 15th November (5.30pm – 8.30pm). If you haven’t done so already, you should now make your application to college.

An application form is included in this prospectus or you can do so online. You will be invited for interview. This is not a selection interview – we will help you put together a programme that is right for you. Even if you are not sure whether you want to go to college, apply anyway. The interview process is good experience.

May 2018

St Vincent Summer Open Evening – 3rd May (5.30 – 8.00 pm). If you haven’t applied yet, don’t panic! There is still plenty of time.

JULY 2018

Introduction Day: If you have applied you will receive a letter inviting you to attend this day of ‘taster’ sessions. They are another chance to confirm your choices.


August 2018 GCSE Results. If your results were not what you expected, you can phone us or come in to discuss your worries. Whatever happens we will be able to help you to get on the right course for you.


College Enrolment begins.You will meet your fellow students and get started on your career at college. It is important you make a smooth start so please ensure that you are back from your holidays by then.
