    This is a non-teaching role, but having teaching experience may be an advantage.

    Reporting to one of the Heads of School, the college is seeking a suitably experienced staff member to join our Progress Tutor Team, which forms part of our support services for students.

    • The college is looking for individuals who are committed to holistic approaches to student support and guidance and are able to offer pastoral support to students.
    • The successful candidates will also be responsible for supporting and monitoring attendance and progress of approximately 180-200 students, organised into study community groups.
    • This will include facilitating weekly study community activities with these students.
    • They will also have responsibility for providing support to students in need of a range of additional support, including liaison with parents’ and carers
    • Candidates will have knowledge of the college’s tutorial systems, Safeguarding and E&D.

The role is paid at your teaching scale plus a responsibility allowance of £2,000

    We are looking to recruit a dynamic staff member to lead on the integration of the Colleges’ new ‘Advance’ system for student information.

    This is a part time position and would suit an experienced MIS practitioner looking for a leading role in the development of student information and tracking systems.

    This role would initially be based at St Vincent Sixth Form College in Gosport but would, potentially, work across the proposed Lighthouse Learning Trust which will see the College convert to Academy status.

    The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of experience in leading MIS system development and be confident in integrating and promoting new data systems.

    This role is suited to an individual with previous Sales or Account Management experience who enjoys the building and managing of relationships across many sectors. Experience working across all business sizes and understanding the requirements of the customer. Previous experience in the education sector will be an advantage though not essential to the role. We are looking for a good team player who is able to articulate to the team the customer requirements in order to build and deliver the customer proposition clearly and concisely.

    We are looking to recruit a dynamic staff member to undertake administration for our student support teams and contribute to the digital marketing activities of the College.

    This role will:
    • Lead front of house customer service to students and other stakeholders accessing the Student Support Centre
    • Provide administration support for the Cross-College Learning Support Coordinator, Welfare Officers and Progress Tutors
    • Assist the Welfare Officers with the planning and delivery of themed events and activities in the College
    • Be responsible for producing and monitoring the College’s social media channels and online presence. This includes the promotion of college events, activities and news and communication with online users.

    The successful candidate will need to demonstrate good customer service and administration skills. Prior experience of administration duties in an education setting with young people would be advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of social media tools and digital marketing activities is essential.

    This role will:
    • Support the operation of the Learning Centre and ensure that this facility is effectively monitored in order meet the needs of our users.
    • To lead offsite activities and trip approval and planning processes in liaison with curriculum staff and the Educational Visits Coordinator (EVC)
    • Provide exemplary customer service and high quality front-of-house services to student and staff accessing the Learning Centre.
    • Support and maintain the use of college resources, including facilitating the College Shop and laptop loans.

    The successful candidate will need to demonstrate good customer service and IT skills. Prior experience of working in a Learning Centre/library or education setting with young people would be advantageous. Knowledge and understanding of educational visits compliance processes are essential.

    The St Vincent College Learning Support Unit (LSU) provides education for students aged 16 to 25 years who have a variety of medical, communication, physical and learning difficulties, ranging from moderate to severe / profound.

    We offer quality education in a caring atmosphere and require enthusiastic and experienced staff that can support and facilitate learning, supervise and provide personal care for students.
    As well as needing great communication skills and the ability to use your initiative, you will also require a great sense of humour and the ability to work as part of a team.

    Our Learning Support Assistants work in close partnership with class teachers to promote learning for all students. Some experience of working on intervention programmes with individuals and small groups of students would be of benefit.

Adult Education Tutors

Hours of work: Classes vary in length from 2 – 3 hours per week and usually run between 4 – 30 weeks.

Hourly Rate: Community and Level 2 accredited courses: £22.73 per hour
Level 3 accredited courses: £30.95 per hour

    Adult Education Tutors required to deliver a range of community learning classes and accredited qualifications, including English and Maths Functional Skills.

    Classes run term-time throughout the week, daytime and evenings from our main college site in Mill Lane and daytime at community venues across Gosport, including the Nimrod Centre in Rowner.

    Applicants should have a minimum of Level 3 Award in Education and Training for community classes, or a full teaching qualification and at least Level 3/4 in their specialist subject for accredited courses. Ideally, applicants should also have experience of delivering classes to adult learners.

    Qualified Assessors required for a range of qualifications including Business Administration, Early Years Educator (EYE), Health & Social Care, Hairdressing, Supporting Teaching & Learning, and TAQA

    Assessors must have experience of assessment and delivery, and preferably have achieved one of the qualifications in the area(s) they will be assessing (NVQ or Diploma). Evidence of assessment and delivery of NVQs/QCF certificates/diplomas is essential, and this, together with qualifications held, current practice, occupational competence and up to date CPD will be requested at interview.
