Two Digital Media Students’ Work Published for Local Charity

Students from the School of Personalised Learning at St Vincent Sixth Form College have used their creative talents to design promotional leaflets for the Sail Havant Youth Sail Training Scheme (HYSTS). Trustees from the youth charity, based in Langstone Quay, selected Leon Plant and Taylor Perry’s design for publication.

Leon said “When I found out that Taylor and I had been chosen, I was surprised but really happy. The leaflet looks professional and stands out, and it’s great that people can learn about Sail HYSTS and maybe try sailing. We had an amazing day on the water, and I’d definitely recommend getting involved”.

The leaflet will be distributed to libraries, community centres, potential funders and young people who show an interest in trying a new sport.

This collaboration between the college and Sail HYSTS gave our young students a chance to develop their IT skills, and see their work come to life.

A spokesperson for Sail HYSTS said: “The students were all very polite young adults and a credit to St Vincent Sixth Form College, it was a pleasure to introduce them to sailing.”
