Global engineering company, StandardAero and Marketing agency, GottaBe have given back to our student community by sponsoring new kits for two of our teams at our sister collages, St Vincent Collage and Richard Taunton Sixth Form Collage.
International Investment at a Local Level
After collaborating with St Vincent’s College to support the annual Gosport Business Awards, David Steer, Government Business Director at Gosport-based StandardAero got in touch about sponsoring. “We are keen to support youth development as they are our future workforce. StandardAero is an international aviation business that believes in investing in the local communities where we operate and our employees live,” Steer told us.
StandardAero’s investment enabled much needed new kits for the girls netball team.
The kits will bring a great sense of team spirit to the squad, as netball coach Alison Masterman explained, “This year they have worn a mixture of dresses. To all wear the same dresses will really help their confidence in their matches. They will feel part of the same team and proud to represent their college.”

Aspirations of Top League in Football
Southampton-based Tomasz Dyl, Managing Director of GottaBe and former student of Richard Taunton Sixth Form College had this to say, “I came from Poland and studied A levels here in 2007, and without them I would not be where I am as the college helped me to develop my initial idea for GottaBe.”
Dyl could not bestow his generosity on more grateful recipients than the boys football team, who were overjoyed by their new kits.
Sports and Uniformed Protective Services teacher Luke Roberts believes that this will give the team that extra bit of motivation to really push for the top league. “It will make the boys look very professional for next season,” he commented. “A massive thank you to GottaBe marketing!”
Sponsorship Opportunities
Sponsorship opportunities, especially for college sports teams, are proving to be a great way for businesses to not only give back but also to become better rooted in the local community. Going forward there will certainly be room for even more collaboration.
Indeed, Head of Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions, Sarah Carter has been overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of our sponsors, saying, “Local networking has connected me with many business leaders who are serious about making positive changes in their communities. When I saw the girls netball team in high spirits but worn-out dresses, I was hopeful someone in my network would step up to support.”
The future is looking to be well dressed for our sports teams! Netball and football are just a few of the extra-curricular activities that St Vincent students can enjoy. This multi-disciplinary approach means that our young people can learn, play sport, be creative, all while building towards a vibrant future no matter their career goals.
