Adult Education Course

What is the course about?

The course will be in three parts:
  • Investigation-geophysics, mapping

  • Excavations-recent such as Petersfield Heath; On-going-Exton in the Meon Valley and Silchester; older-Portchester

  • Post excavation-investigating artefacts found and environmental analysis (plant and animal remains), dating

There will be six classroom sessions on Wednesday evenings and three Saturday Field Trips (5th, 12th and 26th October).

The first of these will be to the Local Studies Collection in Gosport.
Field Trips will be free but you will need to organise and pay for your own transport there and back.
A good background knowledge would be useful with a keen interest!

How will my progress be recorded?

Your tutor will work with you to assist in the completion of an Individual Learning Plan. This is a flexible working document agreed between the learner and the tutor. It will be used to record your progress and it will be reviewed and updated within the duration of the course.
