Course Summary
This hands-on course introduces students to the Early Years sector through practical activities and real-life scenarios, helping them build key skills and confidence. No previous qualifications are needed, and students without English or Maths will study these alongside the course. With no exams and progression routes to Level 2 Early Years or Health and Science, it’s a great first step toward a rewarding career.
Key Topics
There are two core units to complete alongside four additional units chosen by the teacher including topics such as:
- Providing an Activity to Support Children’s Emotional and Social Needs
- Providing an Activity to Support Children’s Numeracy
- Providing a Children’s Physical Activity.
Assessment
There are no exams it is coursework only presented in a number of different ways including keep working logbooks, records and reflective journals
Enrichment Opportunities
Enrichment as part of college programme, practical activities are part of the course.
Progression
Progress to Level 2 Early Years or Health and Science.
Entry Requirements
No minimum entry requirement. However you will need to study English and maths alongside this course if you do not already have these qualifications.
