Access to Higher Education: Health Professionals

Course Summary

This course is intended to help students explore current concepts of health, biology and psychology and different models of healthcare and how these influence health and well-being.

Students will consider health in its widest possible context and the role of the healthcare professional within the current UK healthcare context.

Throughout this course students will develop skills which will help critical thinking, academic writing and analysis in readiness for HE study.

Coursework and exams.

Progression

University Courses: Nursing, Midwifery, Biological Sciences, Paramedic Science, Operating Theatre Practice, Zoology, Early Years and Youth Work.

Career Options: nursing, psychology, laboratory work, paramedic, operating department practitioner, midwife, ecological conversationist or researcher.

Entry Requirements

GCSE Maths and English grade 4 and above required, plus 3 other GCSEs grade 4 and above.
