Access to Higher Education: Social Sciences

Course Summary

This course is intended to help you explore current concepts of social science and different models of theory and social policy and how these influence society and wellbeing.

You will consider social sciences in their widest possible context and the role of professionals within the current UK social context.

Key Topics

Students completing the Access to HE social Sciences will study the following 4 modules:

  • Psychology
  • Cultural Studies
  • Sociology
  • Academic Studies.

Throughout this course students will develop skills which will help to develop critical thinking, academic writing and analysis in readiness for HE study.

There is a nursery at St Vincent Sixth Form College for babies and young children up to four years old, run by YMCA Fairthorne Manor. This is free for those on benefits.

Coursework and exams.
