On this course, you’ll explore a range of local and national businesses and discover what makes them successful – or not! Through real case studies, you’ll learn how profit, people, ethics, and the environment all play a role in shaping a business’s success.

You’ll also look at how wider factors like politics, economics and technology influence business decisions, helping you understand how businesses operate in the real world.

If you’re curious about how businesses grow, adapt and make decisions, this course gives you the insight and skills to start thinking like a business professional.

Key Topics

As part of this course, you’ll learn about key areas of business including finance, market research, marketing, and people management. You’ll use research to make decisions and understand how businesses work, using tools like SWOT analysis and the 4Ps.

You’ll finish the year with a final project where you’ll come up with your own business idea. Past students have created everything from cake brands to postcards, cat bedding to cashmere streetwear – and more!
