Course Summary
You will be taught in a well-equipped workshop with all the up-to-date resources associated with this type of course. You will have the opportunity to use this equipment to develop your skills in Carpentry and Joinery. You will be closely tutored in all aspects of the course.
This Level 2 qualification provides you with a range of knowledge and skills. You will develop an understanding of health and safety for working in the construction industry and knowledge, skills and behaviours of a carpenter and joiner as stated in the Skills England (was IfATE) Occupational Standard.
Key Topics
You will learn all aspects of site Carpentry, including building methods, first fixing, second fixing, structural carcassing and maintenance. You will also cover aspects of Health and Safety issues and how to maintain good working relationships, both with colleagues and customers. You will be trained by an experienced tradesperson in our purpose-designed construction Centre.
Progression
Level 3 courses, apprenticeships or employment.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 2-3,and completion of Level 1 carpentry course.
