You will learn in our purpose-built construction centre and be trained by an experienced tradesperson in all skills associated with carpentry and joinery.
You will be taught in a well-equipped workshop with all the up-to-date resources associated with this type of course.
You will use this equipment to develop your skills in carpentry and joinery and be closely tutored in all aspects of the course. Safety is a prime objective and you will be expected to provide suitable safety footwear.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Five GCSEs at grade 4 and above, or completion of Level 1 construction.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
You will learn all aspects of site carpentry, including building methods, first fixing, second fixing, structural carcassing and maintenance. You will also cover health and safety and how to maintain good working relationships, both with colleagues and customers.
PROGRESSION ROUTES:
Apprenticeships or employment.
