Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values – Certificate

Course Summary

This nationally recognised qualification is designed to increase learners’ awareness and understanding of safeguarding practices, the Prevent Duty, and the importance of British values. It is particularly relevant for those working or volunteering in education, health and social care, or community settings.

This is a 4 month course and will take place in person. This course is free subject to meeting eligibility criteria such as being aged 19 years or older.

This qualification aims to develop the learner’s knowledge and understanding of:

  • Understanding the Prevent Duty
  • Understanding safeguarding
  • Understanding online safety

Assessment

Learners enrolled onto this course will be allocated an Assessor/Tutor. All units will be individually internally assessed using a range of assessment methods. Assessment will be Internally Quality Assured (IQA) and Externally Quality Assured (EQA) by the Awarding Organisation.

The different types/methods of assessment will be discussed between student and Assessor/Tutor.

You can progress onto another adult education course.

Entry Requirements

While there are no strict entry requirements for this qualification, students will need to complete initial and diagnostic assessments in English and maths to determine the level of the course.
