Course Summary

This course covers topics such as legislation and regulations related to equality and diversity, promoting inclusive practices, understanding different forms of discrimination, and the benefits of diversity in society and the workplace. Students will explore strategies for challenging discrimination and promoting equality of opportunity for all individuals. The course emphasizes the importance of fostering a culture of respect, fairness, and inclusivity in personal and professional environments. Completion of this certificate equips learners with valuable competencies to contribute positively to diversity initiatives and create inclusive environments in their respective roles and communities.

This is a 4 month course and will be deilvered online. This course is free subject to meeting eligibility criteria such as being aged 19 years or older.

Key Topics

This qualification is suitable for learners of any age both young and adult whether in employment or preparing for employment. It is a knowledge based qualification which can be delivered in a variety of contexts including as part of personal development or in an induction programme. It is designed to raise awareness of issues around equality and diversity whether in society, the workplace or the community. Learners will develop knowledge and understanding which can be applied in the workplace and will be of value to employers.

Assessment

Students enrolled onto this course will be allocated an Assessor/Tutor. All units will be individually internally assessed using a range of assessment methods. Assessment will be Internally Quality Assured (IQA) and Externally Quality Assured (EQA) by the Awarding Organisation.

The different types/methods of assessment will be discussed between student and Assessor/Tutor.

You can progress onto another adult education course.

Entry Requirements

While there are no strict entry requirements for this qualification, students will need to complete initial and diagnostic assessments in English and maths to determine the level of the course.
