Introduction to Child Psychology
WHAT DOES THIS COURSE COVER?
Child Psychology is one of the many branches of Psychology, and one of the most frequently studied speciality areas. It focusses on the mind and behaviour of children, from prenatal through to adolescence.Child Psychology deals with not only with how children grow physically, but with their mental, emotion; and social development as well. In recent years, the UK has seen an increase of mental health illnesses diagnosed in pre-school children, and school settings have seen a rise in attachment disorders amongst their pupils. Why is this? This and other such questions will be addressed on this course.
This 5 week course will focus on:
- Childhood mental health disorders
- The importance of early relationships
- Attachment, including what happens when attachments aren’t formed
- What makes children happy?
No previous knowledge is necessary, just a willingness to learn and participate in a classroom setting.
