Course Description
Photography and Media has a profound impact on the way we live our lives. This course will encourage you to explore different forms and processes and communicate using a variety of traditional and modern techniques to produce creative photography and media outcomes. By the end of the course you will be able to explore, understand and apply visual language and terminology to a variety of tasks.
GCSE Media:
Critical and Contextual Studies
Coursework Portfolio:
- Introduction to short film making, poster design and infographics
- Analytical skills and written commentary of media
- Use of digital sketchbook to record creative ideas
Unit 2 – Controlled Assignments
Final major project responding to set titles – 10 hour exam
• Five GCSEs at Grade 2 or above
• If you have not yet gained Grade 4 or above in English and/or Maths, this will form part of your programme
• All students have access to our enrichment programme
• Visits to London and other local galleries to see art, media, photography and cultural interests
Units are assessed through portfolio and Externally Set Task
