Famously referred to as the science of life, biology is a fascinating subject that can give you a deeper understanding of living things.
Throughout your studies, you will broaden your knowledge of the major systems of the human body, explore the interactions of organisms in their environment and learn about the principles behind evolution and genetics. This is an opportunity to advance your practical skills and knowledge of biology.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
Five GCSEs at grade 4 and above, ideally a 5 in English.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEARN:
Learners will gain skills in working safely in a laboratory, risk assessing and COSHH. Microbiology skills will be developed, along with problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse data. We will explore a range of biological topics, including disease and pathology. Learners will gain communication skills, advanced writing skills and an understanding of anatomy and physiology.

Doctor, paramedic, microbiologist, dentist, midwife, nurse, environmental scientist, pharmacist, teacher, lecturer or zoologist.
