Information For Students

St Vincent enabled me join to the BTEC level 2 course, and within weeks of being at the college they identified that I might have learning needs. They arranged for me to be assessed, and I instantly got the support I needed after being diagnosed with dyslexia. Not only did I get the support, but it helped me make sense of a lot of things. I completed BTEC level 2 and left education for a period of time.

KATE’S STORY STATUTORY CHILD PROTECTION SOCIAL WORKER FOR HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

After studying for a year at university I smoothly transferred to St Vincent College for the remaining two years where the staff and students were very welcoming.

The FDA course opened my eyes to many opportunities available after completing my studies, allowing me to identify my own strengths and weaknesses whilst providing me with further knowledge to progress in my career. Most of all, the course gave me confidence and encouraged me to aim for my goal.

BETH’S STORY FAMILY ENGAGEMENT WORKER FOR SOUTHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL

I graduated with my Foundation Degree at St Vincent College in 2017. When I started the course I didn’t know what I wanted to do with it or where I wanted to go with my career. Still unsure, I went on to do a BA top-up within a year; all whilst working full-time.

In September 2018 I took a leap and I am now a full time student taking on a Master’s Degree to become a qualified Social Worker.
