Choosing Your Study Programme

Which level is right for you?

When choosing your course options you need to ensure you apply for a level of qualification in line with your predicted GCSE grades and your career aspirations. Our staff can help you decide which programme of study is right for you. Each level of study has specific entry requirements as outlined in the table below. These requirements are for general guidance only and some courses have additional entry requirements which are included in the subject descriptions.

You can also find more details about specific courses on the individual course information leaflets which are available from the Student Support Centre. Alternatively you will be able to pick them up at our open evenings. These leaflets will give you more idea about the specific requirements and expectations of a course.
We also recommend that you come to at least one of our Open Evenings in the autumn term (Wednesday 12th October and Tuesday 15th November) to find out more from students and staff about the courses you are interested in. If you are over 19 you can join any full-time course at St Vincent and there are part-time options too. Details of fees and fee remission categories are available on application to the college.
If you have a physical disability or learning difficulty we are committed to ensuring that you are treated fairly. We will make any adjustments we can so you are not put at any undue disadvantage. Click here for more details of our learning support.

Guide to course work

Some courses contain little or no coursework, while others are assessed entirely by coursework. When you are considering which courses you wish to take you should bear this in mind. You can find out more details on the precise nature of coursework demands from the course information leaflets available from the Student Support Centre.
