How to Apply
APPLICATION PROCESS
Here are the steps you need to take to apply to study at St Vincent Sixth Form College.
1. Start researching
Choosing subjects may seem overwhelming initially. To help you research the best one/s for you, try asking yourself these questions.
- What subjects do you enjoy?
- What type of learner are you?
- Do you prefer coursework or exams?
- What would you like to do after college?
- What do you need to reach that goal?
- Have you looked at all of our courses?
- What are your predicted grades?
If you haven’t seen us at your school to ask questions you can email us any time on admissions@stvincent.ac.uk.
2. Attend an open evening
We hold several open evenings throughout the year for you to come and find out more about us. You can have a tour of the campus, meet our teachers and students, learn about our courses and hear from our Executive Principal. Book your place on our next open day here.
3. Complete an application
We recommend you apply as early as possible to secure your place on your preferred courses. You can apply to more than one college if you wish.
We strongly recommend that you apply before the end of March as priority will be given to applications received by then. No guarantee can be given to course for late applications and you may be asked to select an alternative option.
Applications should be made online via our online application form.
4. Attend a welcome meeting
You will be invited to an informal, relaxed conversation within a few weeks of making your application. This is a great chance to discuss your course choices, entry requirements and any enrichment options you’d like to take with a member of our teaching staff. You may not be invited to enrolment if you choose not to attend a welcome meeting, so please make sure you reschedule asap if you can’t make your appointment.
5. Receive your offer
After a successful welcome meeting we will send a conditional offer for the courses you have chosen. A conditional offer means that the offer is based on the predicted grades that you have provided in your application.
If you change your mind about your courses please contact admissions as soon as possible to avoid missing out on a place. You can call us on 023 9260 3604, or email admissions@stvincent.ac.uk
Applicants who have complex needs that may impact on their ability to learn or for other students’ ability to learn within our college community, may be referred to our Admissions Panel. The panel will consider any support that may be required to help that student achieve and make decisions about whether a place can be offered to an individual in line with the Admissions Policy and Equality and Diversity Policy, this may take a few weeks.
6. Attend our applicant event
You will be emailed an invitation to our applicant event which will be held on 23rd June 2026, with all the information you need. Here you will get a real taste of college life at St Vincent, try out your chosen subjects, meet new friends and the teaching and support staff. In the run up to your official enrolment, we will be sending you emails with information that will help prepare you for starting with us in September.
7. Enrol
You will receive a letter in advance of your GCSE results inviting you to an enrolment appointment. Enrolment happens between Thursday 20th August 2026 and Friday 28th August 2026 and it’s essential that you attend. Applicants who do not engage with us by attending a welcome meeting or applicant event may not be invited to enrolment. If you’re unable to attend, it’s important that you stay in touch with us.
If you don’t get the GCSE results you were hoping for, please still attend your appointment. Our careers team will be on hand to discuss your options.
At enrolment you will finalise your courses, enrol as a student, pick up your student ID, and become a fully-fledged student at St Vincent Sixth Form College in September!
After enrolment you will receive your timetable, and access to the student portal.
