Early Years Educator

The Early Years (CYPW/EYE) Qualifications are designed for anyone involved in or wanting to work within a Nursery, a Pre-School, as a registered Childminder or working with children under the age of 5 and would like to gain the necessary qualification to become an Early Years Practitioner. Achieving this qualification demonstrates an individual’s ability relating to child development, care, behaviour and learning. The qualification is suitable for those already working as an Early Years Practitioner and also anyone who is looking to work in this sector. You will need to be working within an Early Years setting employed or voluntary.

You are required to work within a paid or voluntary position within this sector for a minimum of 12 hours a week.

How will it be financed?

If you are over 19 and wish to undertake a level 3 qualification, student loans are available. You pay back your loan when you finish your course and only when you start earning more than £25,725 a year. Your repayments will stop if your income drops below £25,725 a year.

Course timings

St Vincent College runs a roll on, roll off programme throughout the year. (Start dates are available throughout the academic year). This is a nationally recognised qualification and upon achievement you will receive a City and Guilds Certificate.

The Course runs over 24 months where each individual learner receives support from an allocated Assessor and a Class Tutor. Evening Classes are available 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm for learners to gain knowledge and understanding (evening to be confirmed).

Assessors work with learners on a one to one basis in the workplace where regular contact is provided to support you through your qualification.
